Patient Policies

By scheduling an appointment and receiving services at Ottawa Dentist, you agree to the following terms and policies.

Appointments

Scheduling

Appointments can be scheduled by phone, through our website, or in person. We make every effort to accommodate your preferred time.

Cancellations

We require at least 24 hours notice for appointment cancellations or changes. This allows us to offer the time to other patients who may need care.

Missed Appointments

Missed appointments without notice may result in a cancellation fee. Repeated missed appointments may affect your ability to schedule future appointments.

Payment & Insurance

Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, debit, credit cards, and direct insurance billing.

Insurance Claims

While we offer direct billing to most insurance companies, you are ultimately responsible for payment. Insurance coverage varies, and we cannot guarantee what your insurance will cover.

Outstanding Balances

Accounts with outstanding balances over 90 days may be sent to collections. Interest may be charged on overdue accounts.

Treatment

All treatment recommendations are based on professional judgment and your individual needs. You have the right to accept or decline any recommended treatment.

We will provide clear explanations of treatment options, costs, and potential risks. Informed consent will be obtained before any procedure.

Records

Your dental records are the property of the practice but are maintained for your benefit. You may request copies of your records at any time, subject to applicable fees and legal requirements.

Minors

Parents or legal guardians must accompany minors (under 18) to appointments and provide consent for treatment. The parent or guardian accompanying the minor is responsible for payment.

Website Use

This website is provided for informational purposes only. The content should not be used as a substitute for professional dental advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

While we strive to keep information accurate and up-to-date, we make no warranties about the completeness or accuracy of website content.

Professional Standards

Our practice operates in accordance with the standards and regulations set by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and applicable provincial and federal laws.

Complaints

We value your feedback. If you have concerns about your care, please contact our office manager. We are committed to resolving issues promptly and professionally.

If you wish to file a formal complaint about professional conduct, you may contact the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario at 1-800-565-4591.
